    Description

    NACG is seeking an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Off Road) to join our dynamic and industry leading organization at our various sites in Fort McMurray & Acheson.

    Shift rotation is 14x hours.
    The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
    Work closely with peers in both maintenance and operations.
    Preventative Maintenance and servicing of all equipment.
    Check equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.

    Trouble shooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.

    Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications.
    Mobilization of equipment for maintenance and repair.
    Teach and evaluate apprentices and mentor Mechanics.
    Predominantly shop work, but may include short periods outdoors from time to time.

    A valid Alberta Journeyperson Equipment Technician (Off Road) Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic/Technician (Off Road).

    Minimum 2 years' experience post Journeyperson certification on large Haul Trucks/Dozers/Graders and Excavators.
    Experience with Cat SIS is an asset.
    Basic knowledge of computer applications.
    Transferrable Skills/Terms - HET, Heavy Equipment Technician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Off Road Mechanic
    If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following:
    Provide a valid Class 5 Driver's License and a recent Driver's Abstract
    Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
    Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
    Breath Alcohol Test
    Urine Drug Test
    Audiometric Testing
    Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing

    After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
