Position Summary:

An Activities Expert is responsible to assist visitors in planning and booking activities and programs offered by A&E and FHSR.

This position is also responsible for the retail component of A&E.

Hourly wage for this position is $17.50 per hour.

Start date for this position is June 24, 2024.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:


  • To report to the Activity and Experience Manager
  • Operate the retail component of A&E Centre: maintain stock levels and make decision about stock control ie: ordering, inventory counts, invoicing, etc.
  • Record and analyze sales figures for future planning and revenue generating initiatives.
  • Ensure standards for customer service and health and safety are met.
  • Book tours, activities and rentals offered by A&E Centre; including but not limited to kayaking, biking, hiking, rafting, horseback riding, ATV tours, kids programs etc.
  • Assist in coordinating A&E tours and staff scheduling.
  • To accomplish dayday operations of A&E such as point of sales, and daily cash outs.
  • To work as part of the Activity Team.
  • Cooperate and accept other assignments as and when required.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:


  • Exceptional communication skills backed by a fun and friendly attitude
  • Strong customer service and sales abilities
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Strong administrative skills with a focus on maintaining an organized and efficient work environment
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with general booking systems
  • Knowledge in retail sales systems and their capabilities of interpreting financial information/analyses
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Previous retail experience preferred (ordering, invoicing, etc)
  • A knowledge of the area; history, ecology, geology, and recreational activities
