JOB DESCRIPTION - Compressor Technician

JOB TYPE - Full time, scheduled eight hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30 PM


MAIN FUNCTION:
To install, service, maintain, diagnose, and repair compressed air equipment in Northern Ontario.


DUTIES:


  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/identify mechanical issues, and replace/repair defective parts on air compressors.
  • Install, startup, and complete warranty registration on new air compressors.
  • Document all work/repair details on company work orders.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of company equipment and perform minor repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain service vehicle inventory of parts.
  • Report any incidents/accidents to the Office Manager.
  • Will be required to participate in a rotating on call list for after hours service calls.
  • Will be required to occasionally travel out of town.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of compressed air equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.


EXPERIENCE:


  • Over one (1) year of millwright or air compressor technician related experience is preferred.
  • Forklift experience will be considered an asset.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must possess a valid class G drivers license with a good driving record.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and proper use of hand tools.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet set deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
  • Provide, at own cost, a Police Record Check.

SALARY
/hr. Three month probation period, after which a wage increase will be implemented.

  • After six months, employee will be enrolled in a compressor manufacturer certification program. Upon successful certification, another wage increase will be implemented.

Technical training and support will be provided to the successful applicant who demonstrates the willingness to learn.

Salary:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour
