    Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Mine Water Management & Closure Planning, the Engineer, Water Integrated Planning is responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of mine water management tools, completion of water infrastructure cost estimation, data collection, supporting development of processes, and tracking of water Key Performance Indicators. You will ensure use of the water balance model to support sustainable Operations, in alignment with compliance requirements, Regional Water Quality Modelling, and Teck Water Governance Framework.

    Responsibilities:

    • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
    • Support managing risks through effective implementation of site water management
    • Manage and support annual cost estimate for water management infrastructure
    • Manage and support the annual submission of Water Reclamation Liability Cost Estimate
    • Implement water management tools, in alignment with long term site water management strategies and regulatory authorizations
    • Identify operational water supply needs, water quality, infrastructure risk, and assist in the development of feasible mitigation in coordination with stakeholders
    • Support strong relationships with government agencies, Aboriginal groups, and local communities of interest
    • Ensure regulatory commitments relating to Water Management Plans and Water Management Facilities are met
    • Complete capital budget planning for water projects and ensure project management standard methodologies are applied
    • Prepare and review data and reports to meet regulatory and other commitments, including presentation of technical information to a variety of audiences

    Qualifications:

    • Engineering or Science Degree in civil, environment, hydrology, hydrogeology, or other related field
    • Relevant professional accreditation, or eligible for accreditation
    • Minimum 5 years experience leading development and implementation of water management programs, and risk evaluation of water quality and quantity in an industrial environment
    • Experience in cost modeling and data analytics
    • Experience in project management and delivery
    • Technical knowledge of federal and provincial mining water practices and regulatory compliance preferred

    Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000

    The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

    Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
