Primary Purpose
The IT Technician will provide maintenance, repair, and tech support on various equipment at our UNF campus. The service level will be mainly for the staff and faculty but might include on-site student assistance.
Specific Responsibilities
- Installing and configuring hardware and software components
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Repairing or replacing damaged hardware
- Upgrading systems to enable software compatibility.
- Performing tests and evaluations on software and hardware
- Offering information and support to users
- Maintaining relationships with different employees and departments
- Helping with the onboarding process for new starters
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule.
- Academic background in Computer Science/IT (technical diploma/postsecondary education)
- Understanding of Computer Systems & Networks
- Strong Problem solver with excellent troubleshooting skills
- Superior customer service and communication skills
- Be available to work on a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends are a possibility)
- 2+ year(s) of experience servicing computer equipment/servicing users with technical issues is an asset.
- OEM certifications
- Experience with Office 365 and VOIP phone experience
- Familiar with Helpdesk Ticketing System
