Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate in planning and facilitating the school counselling program including teaching and supporting students' social and emotional learning (SEL)
• Fostering genuine and supportive relationships with members of the school community that promote an atmosphere of mutual respect and care
• Provide teaching sessions to students, parents and teachers to support the emotional wellbeing of our school community in large and small group or individual sessions
• Maintaining appropriate documentation and record keeping while ensuring professional boundaries and confidentiality
• Support the overall wellbeing of all students through involvement in the school's cocurricular programs
• Be available outside the normal school day to respond to emergencies as necessary
• Thorough understanding of best practices in secondary education
• Commitment to ensuring high standards of care and professional practice
• Ability to inspire others through collaboration and teambuilding
• Strong management skills, including the ability to prioritize and delegate
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Knowledge of Independent Schools is an asset

Requirements for the position:

• Graduate Level training in Counselling Psychology or equivalent training or program
• At least 2 years' experience working with adolescents
• Teacher training and certification is preferred
