Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive/forklift and heavy equipment repair, demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Mechanic will work on a variety of machinery, including heavy machinery, floor scrubbers, skyjacks, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts and heavy equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
• Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues using schematics and mechanical knowledge.
• Execute fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and assembly work.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and tractor-trailers.
• Assist in the training of junior mechanics or service technicians when necessary.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is essential.
• Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with various types of machinery including heavy machinery, floor scrubbers, skyjacks, forklifts and industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Proficient in automotive repair techniques including brake repair, alignment, shocks & struts service, tire service, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
• Experience with heavy lifting and the operation of heavy equipment is required.
• Knowledge of soldering techniques may be beneficial for specific repair tasks.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.31-$35.00 per hour
