Provide financial analysis and support related to Operations.

  • Work closely with the Area Leadership Teams to complete budgets, forecasts, cost control, project system administration, invoicing support and ad hoc analysis
  • Provide guidance and support with monthly and yearly financial deliverables
  • Prepare the monthly operating and project budget variances for approval and submission
  • Prepare the monthly/quarterly forecasts for operating budgets for approval and submission
  • Prepare the forecasts for project budgets for approval and submission as requested
  • Compile and analyze the monthly operating cost accruals
  • Complete the system set up of operating projects, budgeted and unbudgeted, and liaises with the operational project managers regarding cost control, accruals and forecasts
  • Comfortable with driving up to 400KM to remote facilities providing face to face support to operational staff
  • Provide training to staff on financial procedures and systems
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis on cost centers, general ledger accounts and projects including trend analysis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the yearly operating and commercial agreement budgets, including prior years analysis; budget package set up, completion and preparation; recommendations and liaison to other regional areas, Asset Performance and LP Finance
  • Assist in the request of work orders, Master Service Agreements and supplier/vendor set up as required
  • Support monthly financial reporting generation and review

Required:


  • Related degree in a finance, accounting, or business management with 4 or more years of related experience or a related diploma with 6 or more years of related experience.
  • Working towards a professional accounting designation would be an asset
  • Solid understanding of the budgeting cycle; longterm financial planning and multiyear budgeting would be an asset
  • Excellent analysis and problemsolving skills
  • Strong orientation towards customer service including tact, patience and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP [CS2]would be an asset
