Raw Materials Purchasing Agent - Burford, Canada - Home Hardware Stores

Description

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Raw Materials Purchasing Agent to join our Materials Department. Reporting to our Materials Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials into the plant and support production efforts. What you'll do:

Analyze daily exception reports to determine the materials to be ordered.

Prepare and send RFQ's to suppliers and evaluate to determine the best decision to suit the business requirements.

Monitor, cycle count, rectify inventory discrepancies and order bulk tank raw material as required.

Work closely with the production and receiving teams and production scheduler to ensure all necessary raw materials are available to support production schedules.

Create and submit purchase orders using Oracle to suppliers and ensure confirmations from supplier.

Participate in weekly Materials and Scheduling meetings to share and exchange information.

Respond to supplier emails and calls.

Review open order report to ensure all purchase orders are received as scheduled.

Expedite back orders as necessary with suppliers.

Support year end physical inventory counts.

Work with suppliers on continuousimprovement

Set up new suppliers as needed in Oracle.

Cross train with the Packaging Purchase Agent to cover absences and/or vacations.

Other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

University Degree or College Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related discipline.

Minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Computer skills: Microsoft office, Oracle, Centris.

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Good interpersonal, team and collaborative skills.

High attention to detail.

Effective organization skills.
