Eastern College Inc. is actively seeking a
Junior
Systems Administrator to join our team.


Primary Purpose:


The Junior Systems Administrator's role is to ensure the operational integrity and security of triOS Corporation's computer and network infrastructure.

This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, monitoring, securing, and optimizing all systems and network hardware, software, and communication links.

The person will also analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and support where required.


The Junior Systems Administrator will support the vision, mission, and values of Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness, embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintain Security of triOS Corporation Servers, networking, cloud, and SaaS infrastructure. Research and discovery of threats and opportunities within our network/systems and assist with developing plans to remediate and mitigate based on those findings
  • Complete regular and out of band maintenance including but not limited to patching, performance monitoring, tuning, security hardening, etc. in conjunction with other IT department members
  • Maintain and update Configuration Database, Asset Management and Documentation systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve/repair computer, server, cloud and network hardware and software issues.
  • Coordinate System Maintenance and Upgrade Windows and Plans.
  • Coordinate and quality control PC/server repairs performed by Junior Members of the IT Operations Team, the IT Support Team and other warranty/system vendors, etc.
  • Provide occasional initialcontact technical support to staff and students.
  • Provide 3rd level support on escalated issues.
  • Develop Project Plans for Consideration and Approval.
  • Project Plans as Assigned.
  • Assist IT staff in campus and facilitiesmanagement related tasks (e.g., classroom builds, field computer repair, campus IT special requests etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager, IT Operations

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education/college diploma in Information Technology. Industry recognized certifications, specifically Microsoft would be an asset.
  • Basic PowerShell knowledge/experience considered an asset.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the Information Technology field and administrative experience in a comparable business environment.
  • Knowledge on Microsoft infrastructure and desktop technologies including:
  • Microsoft Operating Systems (Client & Server)
  • Microsoft 365 / Azure AD Administration
  • File system security and ACL
  • Active Directory and Group Policy management
  • Microsoft Messaging & Communications Platforms (Exchange, Office365, Teams)
  • Excellent knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Ability to work well with one's hands
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Knowledge of backup systems and cybersecurity best practices an asset.

Hours of Work:

This is a
full-time position. Hours of work will be
8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

Location:


This position will be mainly remote; however,
we will require the employee to be located in New Brunswick and able to travel distances between any of our campuses in Nova Scotia (Sydney, Halifax), New Brunswick (Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John) or Ontario.
