- Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.
- Oversee and direct maintenance activities to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.
- Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies. Major Duties:
- Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions.
- Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance in maintenance program.
- Develop, maintain and oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing and facility equipment.
- Develop maintenance procedures for internal and external work forces.
- Develop scope of work for outsourced maintenance activity
- Manage service contracts.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability.
- Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks.
- Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, equipment uptime, etc.
- Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment. Requirements:
- Certificate of Qualification as an electrician or an electrical engineering technologist (or equivalent)
- years of troubleshooting automated equipment with preference to automotive assembly or automotive component testing would be a benefit.
- Experience in a unionized labour environment, - years would be a benefit.
- Willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OH&SA Regulations relating to industrial maintenance activities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, ability to learn and operate other computer based and web based programs
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Willing to work weekends as required. Additional Must Haves:
- years of experience troubleshooting automated systems with emphasis on electrical circuits and controls
- Proficient in MS Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- years of experience in a unionized labour environment
- Certificate of Qualification as an electrician OR a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
