The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for analyzing and collecting assigned accounts receivable portfolios for Canadian Linen & Uniform Service (CL) customers, as well as ensuring that assigned customer accounts are reconciled and accurate to facilitate timely collections under established payment terms in a call center environment.


What You Will Do:

  • Allocation of a designed portfolio of intercompany past due accounts to collect outstanding balances (call center environment)
  • Review open royalty accounts for all assigned accounts and prioritize collection activities to maximize cash collections
  • Reconcile assigned accounts to maintain accuracy
  • Follow up on collection calls with customers (external and internal)
  • Interface with sales, operations, and finance services to resolve billing, collection, and credit issues
  • Build strong working relationships with field teams to support collection efforts
  • Proactively work with customers and field operations to resolve variances
  • Reconcile account status using current and historical billing and payment activity analysis
  • Liaison with treasury operations regarding cash request specialists to research and reconcile misapplied or payment issues
  • Resolve all past due account balances, unapplied cash, and payment variances through research, communication, and followup with customers or field operations
  • Prepare past due accounts for placement with external collection agencies in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor changes in customers' financial status and payment habits
  • Verify and maintain customer accounts to ensure accuracy of terms and uptodate customer profiles
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or as may be assigned

We are looking for people who are:

  • 1-3 years of experience, preferably in accounts receivable capacity
  • Call center experience is considered an asset
  • College diploma in accounting, commerce, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work independently
