Position Overview

Responsibilities

Placement Coordination:

  • Identify and establish relationships with healthcare facilities to secure field placements for PSW students.
  • Collaborate with placement sites to ensure a smooth integration of students into their work environment.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of students during their field placements.

Communication and Relationship Building:

  • Act as a liaison between the college, students, and placement sites to facilitate effective communication.
  • Foster positive relationships with healthcare professionals, ensuring ongoing collaboration and support.

Student Support:

  • Provide guidance and support to students throughout their placement experience.
  • Address any concerns or issues that may arise during placements, working closely with both students and placement sites to find solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, tracking progress and feedback.
  • Prepare regular reports on placement outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and success stories.
Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Health Sciences, Social Work) or equivalent experience.
  • 23 years previous experience in coordinating field placements for healthcarerelated programs preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, placement sites and students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple placements simultaneously, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to address challenges and concerns that may arise during placements, finding effective solutions in collaboration with students and placement sites.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of the PSW profession and healthcare industry trends preferred.

Work Conditions:

Hybrid work model with an expectation to work onsite as required based on business

needs (approximately 2 days per week).
