- Previous related experience in a large institutional or commercial laundry environment preferred.
- Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English.
- The incumbent is required to stand, reach, bend, lift, push and stretch for sustained periods in order to perform tasks designated as Laundry Aide I duties.
- The incumbent must be able to meet or exceed minimum productivity standards established by the WRHA Laundry Operations.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Production Supervisor and taking direction from the area Lead Hand, the Laundry Aide I is responsible for laundry production and specifically performing assigned duties in any of the following areas: Small Piece/Hand Folding, Flat Iron, Uniform, Operating Room (OR) Processing, and Dryer. Working with specialized machinery to assist the incumbent in the folding operations, the incumbent pulls pieces of linen from tubs or bins and feeds the linen into machines or hand folds linen in a specific manner for processing. Transports stacks of linen manually and places onto carts or shelving units.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
