The Opportunity:
We are looking for a
Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) Solution Delivery Lead to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Analytics Solutions, you will join a team of BIA professionals at our Halifax location where we offer you a
hybrid work option.


As the BIA Solution Delivery Lead, you will act as an analytics consultant for business stakeholders and drive the development and implementation of BI and analytics solutions to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Leveraging your expertise in Tableau, Power BI, Azure Data Lake, ADF, Databricks, and other BI technologies, you will provide consultancy and lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable and innovative solutions.


Key elements of this role include:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable BI and analytics solutions.
  • Lead the design and architecture of data analytics platforms and data models, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide guidance to data engineering team to design and implement ETL processes, data pipelines, and data integration solutions using Azure tools such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
  • Act as champion for data governance processes and integrate into analytics solutions development.
  • Design and build data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to enable selfservice analytics and insights generation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the BIA team members (data engineers, analysts, and reports developers), fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in BI, analytics, and cloud technologies, recommending enhancements to existing systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive the adoption of Analytics solutions and ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies and skills listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, with a focus on solution development and consultancy.
  • Experience in the utility industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools such as Tableau, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Explorer, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Databricks.
  • Good understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data Lakehouse concepts.
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable BI architectures in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other programming languages for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of leading endtoend BI and analytics projects, from requirements gathering to implementation and support.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, agile environment and drive results amidst complexity and ambiguity.
