    For the department "JTLD3 Fluid Dynamical Analyses" in Vernon we are looking for a CFD engineer (m/f/d) .

    As part of the Liquid Propulsion technical directorate, the Combustion & Flow Control Devices department is in charge of design, justification and industrialization of combustion and valves subsystems for European liquid rocket engines and stages in development and in production.

    Missions and Responsibilities:

    Inside this department, the French/German team "Fluid Dynamical Analyses" is in charge of developing simulation models and performing CFD computations for design and justification of our products with regards to fluid flow and thermal aspects.

    • Development of simulation methods for fluid dynamics, especially with respect to combustion and real gas modeling.
    • Performance of CFD simulations for rocket engine components, in particular hydraulic CFD analyses including heat transfer, comprising the following tasks: CAD geometry reduction, meshing, definition of modeling hypotheses, calculations, post-processing, anchoring results to experimental data
    • Advancing the technical direction of projects with respect to fluid dynamics aspects: Define the analyses required to answer the project requirements, proposals for design optimizations in terms of functional behavior.
    • Contribute to the research and technology roadmap with respect to fluid dynamics
    • Exchange with academic partners (CNRS, Coria, Onera, DLR, universities...) in the field of combustion modeling
    • Documentation and presentation of results to the customer (internal/external) in the context of reviews on component and system level, keypoints, working groups etc.

    You have the following qualifications:

    • A degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering with a focus on thermo and fluid dynamics or comparable
    • A doctorate in the field of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics is a plus
    • Deep knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
    • Experience with CFD simulation methods, especially with respect to combustion, turbulence, two-phase flows, and heat transfer
    • Experience with common CFD software (e.g. Ansys CFX, Fluent, OpenFOAM), as well as advanced programming skills (C/C++, Python, Fortran)
    • Ability to work with Linux and Windows environments
    • Business fluent in French and English
