Reporting to the Regional Vice-President, the Regional Director is accountable for managing the operational aspects of clinical services within the Cancer Centre at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), and other programs as required.

This outpatient oncology program includes ambulatory clinics, systemic and radiation treatment, Complex Malignant Hematology including the Stem Cell Transplant Program, palliative, psychosocial oncology, and clinical trials),.

The incumbent must also oversee essential service delivery relationships across ESC for the effective functioning and delivery of high quality cancer services.

Examples would include Health Information Services, Environmental Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy, Laboratory Services, Decision Support, and the Facilities Planning Office.


As the Regional Director, the incumbent will develop and maintain essential clinical and operational relationships across the health system in the ESC region to enable the delivery of integrated and coordinated cancer care as close to home as possible.

They will work collaboratively to strengthen and develop partnerships within WRH, the Erie St.

Clair region, and provincially across Ontario and with Ontario Health - Cancer Care Ontario (as the provincial oversight body for cancer services planning, quality improvement and performance monitoring).

The Regional Director is the primary relationship manager for the ESC Regional Leads.

These Regional Leads are an integral part of the clinical quality and accountability structure of the ESC, with a mandate to drive quality, safety and performance.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • ESC Regional Cancer Program representative for stakeholders at the local, regional, and provincial levels.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing all incoming Ontario Health, Cancer Care Ontario (OH CCO) communications to ensure distribution of information in addition to timely responses to key financial planning documents and program planning requests
  • ESC regional cancer services, which include cancer services within systemic and radiation treatment, Complex Malignant Hematology including the Stem Cell Transplant Program, oncology nursing, pathology, surgery, primary care, endoscopy as well as cancer screening & prevention, cancer imaging and Indigenous cancer care
  • WRH outpatient cancer services which includes operational oversight of outpatient clinics (systemic, radiation, palliative), systemic and radiation treatment and delivery, psychosocial oncology, personcentered care, patient education, genetic services, smoking cessation,

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in health, business or other health related field required,
  • Master's Degree in health, business or related discipline required plus a minimum of 7 years healthrelated experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
  • Registration with the appropriate association (or eligible for)
  • Demonstrated innovative leadership and organizational skills with the ability to coach mentor and facilitate development of individuals and high performance teams.
  • Demonstrated program management skills including strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of regional and provincial health systems of care.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, evaluating and problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge base and clinical competence in one or more areas included in the surgical program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team approach and to adhere to accepted standards of personal conduct.
  • Commitment to continued professional development and learning.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office computer programs.
  • French Language proficiency an asset.
