WHO WE ARE

Rideau Transit Group General Partnership _("RTG") is the Concession Company created to oversee the design, construction and financing of Phase 1, and maintenance of Phases 1 and 2 of the Ottawa Light Rail Transit Project._
THE ROLE:
We are looking for an organised and motivated intern to join our team.
The intern will work alongside the Office Manager and will learn about working in an office, administration, environment & sustainability, health & safety, quality, and internal/external communications by assisting with day-to-day operations and completing special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE
- Enrolled in a cooperative education program at a Canadian College or University and have successfully completed the first year of study.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with Window's operating system.
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail with experience in document preparation, editing, and typesetting.
- Able to multitask, work collaboratively and independently, and work with coworkers in person and virtually.
- Able to adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced work environment with tight deadlines
- Read a document, comprehend the information, and summarize it.
- Previous administrative experience is considered an asset
- Familiar with appropriate office behaviours and etiquette
- Previous experience with professional social media is considered an asset
DUTIES AND TASKS
This position has day-to-day tasks as well as a host of special projects.

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 30-minute lunch totalling, 37.5 hours per week

WAGE
This position starts at $20/hour for first year students.
The hourly wage is based on the completed years of education in your current program as determined by your educational institution.
STARTING DATE AND LENGTH
January 3, 2024, until May 3rd, 2024 (anticipated).

government-funded, as such, all applicants
MUST meet
all the following criteria before they will be considered for an interview:
(i) enrolled as a Canadian student at a post-secondary institution;
(ii) a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person who has been determined to be a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
(iii) is completing a work-integrated learning component (internship) as part of their educational plan.
Appendix A
This section represents an example of the types of duties and tasks which the intern may be responsible for. Actual duties may differ.
Office, Legal, Document Control:
- Processing and writing of letters
- Assist with event planning
- Assist with the update/creation of internal company policies
Finance:
- Creation of invoices
- Reconciliation of receipts
- Processing employee expense reports
Health, Safety, and Environment:
- Assist with passenger injury claims
- Assist with the preparation/updating of forms, policies, and corporate training materials
- Assist in the digitizing of a safety management system and creating automation streams
- Assist with infographics (graphic design)
- Go on site and observe/photograph sample collecting and investigations
- Research assignments
- Assist with injury claim processing
Quality
- Opportunity to participate in audits
Communications
- Daily Media Monitoring report
- Media Tracking activities
- Assist with social media projects
- Update website as required (WordPress)
- Go on site for photography and videography
General:
- Data entry
- Filing (soft and hard)
- Tracking information, statistics, analysis, and reporting.
- Other longterm projects as assigned
- General Administrative duties such as filling coffee stations, filling copier machines, supply ordering, booking meetings, booking catering, etc.
