Department Overview

  • Business Banking Divisional Office supports Business Bankers in the pursuit of Our Quest to be the number one Business Bank in Canada. Part of Business Banking Divisional Office, the Communications & Colleague Engagement team supports Business Banking employees and groups across Canada through internal communications, colleague engagement campaigns, the intranet, and digital initiatives. Our team is committed to delivering a positive colleague experience across the entire Business Bank. We work closely with our partners in Divisional Office, CAPA, Marketing, Digital, HR and Colleague Experience to ensure alignment of objectives and the successful execution of programs and initiatives to promote positive employee and customer engagement.
  • Reporting to the Manager, Creative Services, the Intranet and Visual Design Specialist is responsible for managing the daytoday design and publishing of intranet content and communications to Business Banking's intranet site BB-Web and SharePoint sites. This role is also responsible for publishing content, creating high quality graphical treatments, creating landing pages and microsites and managing projects that promote key initiatives and enhance overall audience engagement.
  • This role has primary responsibility for site administrative tasks, including wireframe changes, modifying search, and partnering with CAST (portal system owner). In addition, the role provides indepth site metric reporting on both internal and external sites, providing coaching and guidance to business units on publishing best practices.

Job Requirements

Key Accountabilities:


  • Design and build Intranet content and pages.
  • Manages and provides strategic direction on projects that involve building new digital properties on the employee intranet.
  • Identifies ways to improve site functionality and leads implementation of ongoing improvements.
  • Design creatives including banners, posters, other graphic design materials.
  • Process high volumes of errorfree communications and Intranet change requests.
  • Provide insight for content development and messaging across digital channels; ensure all content is on strategy and meets project objectives.
  • Manage project deliverables, ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner and as defined by the broader project plan.
  • Provides training and coaching to employees who serve as content administrators for their business line's intranet pages.
  • Work with content sponsors to validate and maintain existing Intranet content. Action content reviews as required.
  • Manage relationships with CAST & Publishing.
  • Identifies and manages relationships with key technology business partners on current and future platform improvements
  • Establishes performance benchmarks for external and internal platforms
  • Creates and maintains a visual style guide for video and photography to drive consistency
  • Advises stakeholders on performance metrics and advises on best practices for datadriven content.

Additional Information

Education & Experience:


  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of professional experience maintaining and enhancing a complex employee intranet
  • 5+ years of experience building pages in various CMS platforms
  • Outstanding project management skills; must be selfstarter
  • Ability to implement improvements and develop digital properties on a fast timeline, under intense deadline pressure, with high attention to detail and quality
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, content management systems and HTML
  • Outstanding written and verbal presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success at building and sustaining positive relationships in a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, think critically and leverage resources to drive successful outcomes
