  • The Retail IS team supports our retail stores and business by leading and listening to our users, stakeholders, technical architecture, and other business/technology leaders. This team generates new ideas and technology that benefits our retail business to operate efficiently and more effectively. Our goal is to build beautiful and scalable experiences for our product guides.

If you were in the Retail IS POS Analyst role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Analyzing requirements and conceptualizing, defining, and documenting appropriate solutions and test requirements
  • Assessing data and system integrations to understand the functional impacts introduced through business requirements
  • Planning, implementing, configuring, testing, and deploying retail software changes using a centralized deployment process (PointofSale)
  • Coordinating, designing, implementing, and maintaining retail hardware devices
  • Automating tasks and jobs to improve retail commerce platform efficiency and effectiveness
  • Being an escalation point for technical issues related to POS hardware and software systems
  • Identifying the root cause of problems from bugs raised by our users
  • Supporting enduser training with our change management team
  • Maintaining uptodate knowledge of retail technology trends and advancements
  • Conducting routine system audits and performance testing
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to the retail system configurations and user manuals
  • Training with our new POS vendor to learn how to manage configuration and deployment of their product
  • Coordinating with the project team to design and integrate identify and access management tools with the POS
  • Collaborating with the project team to set up and maintain POS environment at head office, facilitate product demos, design rollout plan for pilot phase

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Assisting with building an observability layer to our retail technology environment
  • Ideating and supporting proof of concept work that drives the innovation in our stores
  • Testing and supporting the new technology and services coming to our retail stores
  • Supporting with Retail IS Projects including new store openings
  • Configuring a new POS from the ground up and playing an instrumental part rolling out to Arc'teryx stores across North America

Are you our next Retail IS POS Analyst?:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or a related field
  • You have 3+ years of experience in a systems analysis or engineering role or equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and education
  • Omnichannel order fulfillment flow
  • Order management system experience
  • Promotions and customer segmentation workflows
  • Point of Sale data management and purging
  • Payment processing systems such as Adyen and SVS gift card provider
  • Understanding of payment tokenization and tender types
  • You have experience with Windows 10+, iOS, macOS, Android OS platforms inclusive of:
  • Deployment using device management tools such as Intune and Jamf
  • Deployment of software and driver updates through device management tools
  • You have experience with network setup and troubleshooting (LAN and WLAN)
  • You have a great understanding of Active Directory and group policy
  • You have the ability to troubleshoot issues remotely using CLI such as PowerShell
  • You have experience in AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or SAP BTP, and demonstrated proficiency in utilizing RESTful web services using Postman
  • You have experience in Ansible or similar configuration management tools, coupled with handson expertise in implementing and operating observability platforms like Dynatrace, Splunk, or Sumo Logic
  • You have working knowledge of Agile development methodology like Scrum and SAFe
  • You have knowledge of security best practices and data privacy regulations related to POS systems
  • You have strong communication skills and the ability to effectively explain concepts and processes to endusers
  • You consistently and properly document new processes and update existing documentation
  • You are open and able to participate in a rotating oncall schedule for 24/7 support
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
