Description

Applicant must have experience and ability to make minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, plaster, painting, tiling, etc.). Relevant experience and owning your own tools would be an asset.

We are looking for someone who has/can:

• Experience and extremely comfortable with completing drywall repairs and painting
• General understanding of carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical
• Experience with water leak investigation
• Experience in a building maintenance role is a bonus
• Possess excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
• Attention to detail
• Comprehensive knowledge of carpentry tools, equipment, and materials.
• Knowledge of various methods and techniques of repairing and installing materials found within residential buildings.
• Familiarity with workplace safety and safe lifting procedures.

The requirements for this job include but are not limited to:

• Drywall repairs and painting
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments, such as baseboard installation, adjusting door locks, closer and hinges, removal of damaged materials etc.
• Leak investigation and repair

- ability to source out cause or origin of water leak, fix if able to and then repair water damage after leak resolved.

• Cleaning of facilities including the front of the building, yards, steps, entrance hall, garbage pick up, removal of large garbage items and clean up of garbage rooms when required.
• Assist/accompany tradespeople when/if required
• Other repairs and building maintenance as requested by clients
• Able to work from plans and specifications and meet estimated timelines.
• Cuts and shapes wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Responsible for constructing, repairing, restoring, and installing structures like doors, windows, cabinets, and shelves.
• Fit and install trim items such as doors and hardware.
• Ensures work is completed to a highquality standard and meets regulatory building codes.
• Kitchen & Bathroom cabinet and counter installation or repair.
• Handyman, General Repair & Maintenance Work
• Fit and install windows, doors, and hardware
• Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, and other building materials.
• Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, glue etc.
• Performing cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.

Nice to Haves:

• Previous carpentry experiences an asset.
• College Diploma or certification in a recognized carpentry course preferred

Must Haves:

• Valid driver's license
• Own Standard Hand Tools to perform carpentry/handyman tasks.
• Physically fit able to perform physical labour daily.
• Capable of working unsupervised.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Basic understanding of construction is an asset.
• Willing to learn new skills and work in a team environment.
• Dependable and motivated.
• Follow all safety rules.
