Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Sym-Tech, the Product Manager is responsible for overall management of a portfolio of Sym-Tech and OEM branded protection products for the Canadian market.


Works with stakeholders from Sales, Accounting/Finance, Dealer Support, Claims, Legal, Marketing, Training, IT and Dealer/OEM client partners to bring new automotive insurance and warranty products to market, evaluate new segments and manage existing products in support of achieving desired sales, profitability and penetration objectives.


With the recent announcement of Sym-Tech's planned acquisition of SSQ Dealer Services, this specific position will be the lead role for Sym-Tech's product management in Quebec, managing existing products and launching many new products.


  • Position Responsibilities:
  • Identifies F&I Trends and develops appropriate responses and/or recommendations-
  • Conducts competitive analysis on independent and OEM competitors-
  • Acts as a resource for product and competitive related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders-
  • Works closely with key internal and external stakeholders to assess the on-going health of all products. Recommends future product changes/enhancements-
  • Leads product development process to deliver products that create compelling dealer and customer benefits, retail penetration and dealer, OEM and Sym-Tech profitability-
  • Works with Marketing and Training teams to develop the internal and go-to-market plans for product launches
  • Education / Experience:
  • Undergraduate Degree-
  • 5 years' experience in automotive and/or automotive financial services and/or automotive insurance or warranty company. Retail experience a benefit-
  • Product development skills
  • collaborating with multiple stakeholders in developing, launching and managing a product portfolio
  • Knowledge / Competencies:
  • Bilingual
  • French/English mandatory-
  • Knowledge of Automotive protection products including extended warranties, loan protection and replacement insurance-
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment-
  • Effective presentation skills
  • capable of communicating effortlessly with senior management, internal team members, external vendors, industry and dealer audiences-
  • Strong project management skills
  • working with many stakeholders in managing multiple projects/priorities-
  • Analytical skills including financial and competitive analysis-
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Word-
  • Experience with PCRS Policy Administration system an asset-
  • Travel Requirements ~ 10-15%
