Safety Specialist - Mississauga, Canada - Air Canada Rouge
Description
Reporting to the Director, Safety, Security & Environment, the Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in the administration and management of various elements of the company's Safety, Quality, Risk, and Emergency Response programs.
The Safety Specialist may also be responsible for tasks related to communication, documentation, the safety database, and training.The Safety Specialist will work closely with both the Manager, Quality Assurance, Risk, and Emergency response and the Manager, Safety Performance and Risk.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Follow appropriate processes and procedures to receive, validate, process, review and finalize safety reports, in accordance with the company's Business Processes;
- Communicate with employees to address their safetyrelated questions or concerns, and reach out to employees to request reports or further information on reports submitted, as required;
- Conduct initial risk assessment for Safety Occurrences and assignment of Safety Assessments and Investigations;
- Manage processes to formally monitor and track corrective action and subsequent performance (effectiveness) resulting from safety reports, investigations, and management review;
- Support the Manager, Safety Performance & Risk by providing regular reports and insights regarding safety issues and trends;
- Conduct reconciliations (e.g., CADORS, safety reporting, training) and other related tasks to ensure the quality and integrity of data, processes, or systems;
- Assist in the development of Management & Executive Reports for the Management Review System;
- Support the Safety Office in delivering and administering training, as required;
- Assist in the development of company communications and employee engagement projects.
- Support the Manager, QA, Risk and ER in the scheduling of audits, updating and development of audit checklists, and in conducting internal audits.
- Assist the Manager, QA, Risk and ER in tracking the status of Corrective Action Plans from internal Findings and/or Observations.
- Assist the Manager, QA, Risk and ER in conducting risk assessments.
- Additional duties as directed.
- Education to a Post-Secondary Level preferred
- Human Factors & Root Cause Analysis training an asset;
- Aviation Risk Management training an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
- Experience with Data Analysis and Reporting an asset.
- Education in Aviation Safety Management Systems an asset;
