    Reporting to General Manager and indirectly to the CFO, this role is accountable for the accounting and payroll functions within the dealership; to include the production of periodic financial reports, processing various general ledger transactions, maintenance of employee benefits applicable to the Dealership personnel and administration and process of payroll.

    Schedule: Full-time - Monday to Friday

    Salary: $65K+ (based on experience)

  • Who You Are:

  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of recent work experience as a senior Accounting Clerk or higher
  • Automotive Dealership experience is required
  • Recent hands on experience posting deals
  • Recent hands on experience managing accounts payable/receivable accounts
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively respond to and meet the needs of a diverse client base
  • The ability to self-manage oneself in a fast paced and deadline-oriented role
  • Strong communication skills
  • Tech Savvy - MS Office applications, Outlook
  • PBS software knowledge is an asset
  • What Your Day Will Look Like:

  • Prepares dealership financial statements for submission to Trotman Auto Group corporate, manufacturer, NCM Associates (where applicable) and bank
  • Prepares monthly reconciliations for dealership financial statements
  • Handles deal processing & posting vehicle invoices into the system
  • Prepares bank reconciliations and cash management reports
  • Manages accounts receivable and accounts payable, including Vehicle AR, Parts and Service AR, warranty receivables, and other receivables as they may arise
  • Manages daily cheques, EFT's and e-transfers for various vendors, including reviewing supporting backup for all payments and vehicle purchases
  • Reconciles manufacturer statements, inventory, service contracts, vehicle dealer reserves
  • Completes all Payroll functions, including: (a) creation and maintenance of employee files, including entering data into TAG HR4 system where required; (b) enrollment and termination for employee benefits at the dealership; (c) preparation and issuance of semi-monthly payroll & (d) reconciliation of commissions and bonuses payable per various pay plans
  • Coordination of quarterly vehicle inventory counts, and annual parts inventory counts
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
