Description

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Metrologist will be responsible for the effective implementation of the quality system through knowledge of measurement systems and inspection techniques.

Key responsibilities

Recommending appropriate measurement equipment, confirming their effectiveness through execution of MSA studies and maintaining both internal and external measurement equipment calibrations.
Performing complex and oneoff measurement studies using a wide range of measurement equipment.
Writing and validating CMM programs using Calypso, based on internal programming standards and best practices.
Dimensional inspection of product using PolyWorks Laser scanning technology, Calypso based CMM equipment and a wide variety of variable / attribute gaging equipment.
Technical mentoring of inspectors relating to measurement systems.
Provide training of quality standards and principles to production employees based on approved training packages.
Promoting increased Quality and continuous improvement within the organization.

Your qualifications

Advanced understanding of GD&T principles and technical drawing interpretation.
Strong knowledge of measurement systems including both attribute and variable techniques using a variety of scales.
Advanced understanding of PolyWorks or Calypso programming.
Understanding of general quality standards including IATF16949 and ISO900
Knowledge of process capability and MSA.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
Technical College Diploma or equivalent industry experience required.
