Your Role:
Head Technician

Le Boat is looking to strengthen its team by recruiting an experienced Head Technician.


As an experienced mechanic, the Head Technician will be responsible for the technical team tasked with maintaining the boat fleet at an optimal level.

You will be responsible for managing the team's work schedules and overseeing repairs, including all workshop operations, equipment, tools, and spare parts inventory.


What You Will Be Doing:

Mastermind Maintenance: Supervise the corrective and preventive maintenance of boat engines, showcasing your expertise in mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and laminating tasks.

Inspecting Excellence: Regularly inspect the condition of boats inside and out, ensuring our fleet always sails in top-notch shape.

Workshop Wizardry: Take charge of workshop operations, weaving a tapestry of efficiency and ensuring a workplace where safety reigns supreme.

Equipment Maestro: Handle equipment, tools, diesel stock, boat supplies, and gas bottles with finesse, contributing to the seamless flow of operations.

Fleet Facilitator: Assist the Base Manager in fleet management and planning, showcasing your strategic prowess.

Spare Parts Sorcerer: Support the Base Manager in the mystical art of sourcing spare parts, ensuring our boats are always ready to set sail.

Customer Captain: Supervise and manage boat operation instructions given to customers, ensuring smooth boating experiences.

Tech Troubleshooter: Assist the Base Manager in resolving technical issues during the season, bringing your problem-solving skills to the forefront.

Offseason Odyssey: Oversee the winterizing of boats and repair work during the offseason, ensuring our fleet emerges stronger each season.

Safety Sentinel: Ensure safety equipment is worn by the team when necessary, championing a culture of safety first.

What We Are Looking For:

Skills, Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications, and Training

  • Embark on this journey with technical studies or handson experience in diesel engines, hydraulic systems, water pumps, or HVAC repair and general maintenance. Your expertise is our compass
  • Fuel your passion for learning and elevate your technical skills a strong desire to grow is the key to unlocking new horizons.
  • Navigate through specifications and installation instructions with ease, showcasing your ability to chart a course for success.
  • Knowledge of marine diesels and proficient systems is like a secret treasure map an invaluable plus in our eyes.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills are your trusty team members, ensuring smooth business operations.
  • A deepseated passion for boating is the wind in your sails, and any prior experience is a welcomed addition to our crew.
  • Hold a valid driver's license, ready to navigate both on land and water.
  • Flexibility to work onsite in Smiths Falls or Ottawa the ability to support occasionally Peterborough.
  • Fluency in English.
