Department Overview


Reporting to the Group Manager, Private Trust Support - the incoming Operations Analyst will be responsible for the effective delivery of day to day operations for all Private Trust Support functional tasks.

The incumbent will be part of a dedicated team that is committed to process refinements and ongoing operational improvements.

The focus is of this team to provide excellence in Private Trust transactions, and support for the business by providing an exceptional level of client and partner support.


  • Consistently analyze and understand relevant business processes
  • Create, review and maintain documentation
  • Support existing automated processes and implement change requirements as part of a structured change control process
  • Identify and address any issue that affects data integrity and escalate where applicable
  • Problem solve issues that arise in day to day running processes and provide timely solutions
  • Escalate for technical support to promptly resolve incidents/outages
  • Work within project planning constraints and communicate any identified project risks and issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness of automation processing
  • Support knowledge transfer within the team
  • Coordinate and support the yearly procedure review and updates for the department
  • Create diagrams and flows outlining end to end processes
  • Create dashboards for internal (executive, and department) and external (business, partner) reporting. Engage Operational Risk, Compliance, and Audit to develop and review robust processes that provide clear oversight, tight controls, and comprehensive documentation
  • Provide oversight of controls regarding regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the Operations Risk Business Panel and AML/ATF policy group
  • Executes on more complex and/or nonstandard requests
  • Researches and investigates a range of operational / reporting / process issues
  • Recommends and implements solutions within own area of responsibility
  • May need to coordinate / integrate work with other areas as needed
  • Provides advanced analysis and/or specialized reporting to support business partners, functional areas or centres of expertise
  • Provide training / guidance to others on best practices, processes, etc. as well as guide junior staff for the completion of business as usual functions or adhoc nonroutine requests.
  • Provide backup coverage for Group Manager with PT Support when required

Job Requirements

  • A strong working knowledge of the Trust business, Cash Management processes, and the Trade life cycle
  • Working knowledge of SEI and batch file processing
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using EUCs and processing macros
  • Advanced reconciliation and investigative skills: Strong working knowledge of ledger balancing and clearing entries
  • Advanced command of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Advanced computer and typing/data entry skills
  • Detailoriented and ability to work within deadlines
  • Organized with the ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Teamoriented and able to develop excellent working relations with other TDBFG departments
  • Comprehensive and evident understanding of Microsoft Technology (VB.NET, Windows, Internet Explorer, SQL Server, Web Services)
  • Experience with automation software (eg Alteryx) is an asset
  • Programming languages C, C++, VB,.NET, Python is an asset
  • Web Development including HTML, Javascript, XML is an asset.
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to decompose complex concepts into simple and compelling messages
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
  • Evidence of strong leadership and building/maintaining productive working relationships with peers across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical details to a nontechnical audience, and articulate solutions to business teams
  • Organizational awareness & the ability to balance the viewpoints of various business and technology teams
  • Ability to conceptualize automated solutions and understand the prescribed design architecture
