The term clinician position will commence September 3, 2024 to June 27, 2025 or one day prior to the return of the clinician being
replaced, whichever occurs first. The School Social Work position is under the Teachers' Collective Agreement and will follow the
school calendar.
With the leadership and supervision of the Director of Inclusion and Clinical Services and the Clinical Supervisor of Student and
Family Supports, the School Social Worker will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Inclusion and Clinical
Services Department of the Louis Riel School Division. The School Social Worker will work closely with school and program
- based teams, students and families, and external partners in providing services to support student learning and wellbeing. The
School Social Worker will provide services including assessments, programming and therapeutic interventions and consultative
services within the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of intervention service delivery model in the Louis Riel School Division.
- provide service to school-aged children having difficulty coping within their environment
- act as a link between the school, social agencies, medical personnel and service clubs
- plan and program preventatively for students in their environment
- provide individual case work, group work, family therapy, or consultation depending upon the individual
situation within the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of intervention service delivery model of clinical services in the
Louis Riel School Division
- work as a member of a clinical team
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor of Social Work
- Eligible for or in possession of a current School Clinicians Certificate in Social Work
- Member of the Manitoba College of Social Work
- Must be able to work directly and indirectly with children, parents and teachers to meet needs of the children within the
- Knowledge of indigenous cultures and history
- Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset
- Excellent technology skills in order to complete online recording and reporting requirements
- Effective critical incident response skills
- Valid drivers' licence and vehicle required
