The Asset Management Specialist supports the Director, Asset Management, in evaluating, developing, and implementing Asset Management systems as required for both internal and external clients by providing strategic support and guidance to the Transportation Operations projects within the O&M group.

This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering the process framework for asset management for all Transportation Operations projects.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Support Operations & Maintenance projects with the design, development, implementation, and execution of Asset Management programs, processes, and plans.
  • Support the development and maintenance of a model framework for transportation system asset management and operations. Champions and fosters alignment with this model across all Transportation Operations projects.
  • Serve as an asset and maintenance management support resource to Transportation Operations projects, as well as other SNC projects, as necessary.
  • Draft and issue documentation associated with asset management systems.
  • Lead workshops with project and client SMEs in support of AM business process discovery, design, implementation, and organizational change management.
  • Act as Project Manager/Project Controller for AM business process transformation projects as necessary.
  • Other duties as necessary.

  • Demonstrate, cultivate, and promote a commitment to strong, positive safety culture at all levels.

What will you contribute?

  • A minimum degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations or infrastructure asset management consultancy. Demonstrated expertise in rail asset management, maintenance, and/or operations would be considered assets.
  • Associated accreditation (CAMP, PMP, P. Eng., CMA, etc.) would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in business process reengineering project delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of asset management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of asset investment plans for infrastructure systems.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of industry best practises and governing standards pertaining to asset management systems.
  • Familiarity with EAM software systems capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of principles of organizational risk management.
  • Working knowledge and experience of applicable ISO principles and standards, including ISO 9000, 55000, 19650, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated experience in drafting business process documentation.
  • Experience in the development and execution of Organizational Change Management, training, and knowledge transfer plans is an asset.
