As an
Adult, Youth, Childcare Worker at our
Therapeutic Home in Burnaby, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a team that provides support, care, and mentorship to individuals with complex mental health, behavioural challenges, and/or substance use


This lines available are:

  • 32 hours: Saturday-Sunday 7am3pm, Monday-Tuesday 9am5pm
  • 24 hours: Thursday-Saturday 5pm1am

Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary education in related field and/or equivalent experience working with atrisk youth
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with atrisk youth with complex mental health and behavioural challenges
  • Experience or knowledge of traumainformed care
  • Ability to set strong boundaries and build appropriate rapport with youth
  • Clear, direct, and sensitive verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License or Equivalent
  • Current First Aid/CPR training (_we will provide this training to those who require it)_
  • Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or MANDT Training (_we will provide this training to those who require it)_
  • Proof of COVID19 double vaccination record

A sample of what you'll be doing:

  • Wellness checks on clients, according to their safety plan
  • Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication
  • Drive adult/youth to various locations, including school, medical appointments, outings, etc.
  • Encouraging and modelling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
  • Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and youth care plans

Salary:
$24.00-$26.00/hour plus benefits
