Position Summary
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible to ensure the general comfort and well-being of the internal and external guests.
Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the life safety systems (i.e. fire alarms, sprinklers and emergency power)
- Understand HVAC & DCC systems & how they work
- Ensures the general comfort and wellbeing of internal and external guests
- Provides technical expertise (in collaboration with the Facilities Manager) to determine the need to bring in outside contractors if unable to complete projects inhouse
- Responsible for codes/standards
- Responds to requests brought forward by management and team members (i.e. work order requests, emergency situations, minor/complex repairs or maintenance tasks)
- Conducts periodic inspections of building operations to determine condition; diagnose problems and initiate necessary action
- Complies with predetermined internal controls and procedures
- Complies with safety and security standards
- Coordinates with department leaders in deciding how potential repairs/shut downs will affect their work area and the entire casino
- Finds ways to

make their day: - Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, vendors and regulators
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications

Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude:
- High School Diploma with emphasis in Technical Trades
- Two or more years of experience in a Technical Trade
- Two years of experience in commercial buildings
- Can safely operate hand & power tools
- Must be proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and building codes and regulations
- 2nd class refrigeration certificate an asset (Department of Labour certified)
- 4th class stationary engineers certificate an asset
- Previous technical and maintenancerelated skills required (mechanical, electrical/electronic, plumbing, painting, etc)
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
