Please note that this position is based out of our Mississauga, Ontario office with the possibility to be based out of our Montreal, Quebec office.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the CFO, the Business Controller acts as an instrumental business partner who is responsible for providing financial analysis and leading Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Financial Controlling for Materne Canada.

You are the person we are looking for if you have the experience and skills required to assume the following responsibilities:

Financial Controlling

  • Maintain the information system (Adaptive Insights) on a routine basis to ensure that all financial information is 100% accurate
  • Prepare financial reports at monthly closing to aid with monthend presentations to senior management and executive team
  • Distributor volume reconciliation, invoices allocation and deduction followup
  • Distributor margin reconciliation for major customers
  • Accruals & trade terms reviews
  • Business Unit P&L and monthly review preparation (including managerial P&L, variances explanation, FX hedging follow up)
  • Lead the preparation of the Business Plan and Budget working with all functions (Sales, Marketing and Operations)

Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Controlling:

  • Track departmental expenses against budget and prior year including promotion strategies, marketing programs, cost of goods and freight
  • P&L tracking, analysis, and simulations
  • KPI tracking related to sales, trade terms, inventory, forecasting and service levels

You will stand out for your ability to manage projects & priorities in a growing environment while exercising your know-how and interpersonal skills.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or other related area
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Controlling
  • 2+ years of experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry (Food and beverage)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel along with ERP system experience
  • Capacity to work in a transversal mode: business functions, factories and corporate in an international environment
  • SAP and Adaptive Insight knowledge
