What is the opportunity?
The Business and Client Services (BCS) group is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets' trading activities.
We provide our business partners greater efficiency, scalability and control along the Client Journey and transaction lifecycle, helping to ensure the firm's continued growth and success.
As a Senior Leader in the Business Management team, you have the chance to influence the strategic direction of the BCS division, drive profitability and business performance, manage stakeholder communications, ensure compliance with regulations, and foster innovation.
What will you do?
- Operational transformation initiatives, Proficient in project management tools and methodologies, with a keen understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies for complex programs.
- Ensuring successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of project work.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Clear and timely tracking and measurement against targets and plans, holding people accountable to core milestones and activity. (eg. Who What and by When)
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues, providing proactive solutions to ensure timely project delivery and optimal outcomes
- Drive the development and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices across the organization; experience in managing large scale transformation with Agile concepts and frameworks.
- Ensure program vision, strategy and benefits are appropriately cascaded through to goals / outcomes / objectives of each program activity
- Facilitate quarterly Product Increment program wide planning resulting in clear OKRs and sprint plans; build change control framework to monitor and escalate deviations from work plans
- Ensure effective prioritization of program activity and strong understanding of tradeoffs
- Hold broad set of stakeholders and program resources accountable to delivery and timelines, clear communication on critical decisions with clarity on who, when required.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, financial forecasting, and performance metrics ensuring optimal resource utilization & cost control on a timely and regular basis.
- Transparent reporting and tight control of spend, ensuring all costs allocated and charged to the project are in line with plan and agreed prior to spend. Ensuring the appropriate reporting and forecasting tools are up to date and accurate at all times. With clear understanding and details on drivers of variances with correction actions monitored and accountability held across the relevant project workstreams.
- Metric based program management to enable demand vs capacity analysis across teams, execution / implementation monitoring (requirements, dev & QA metrics, issues mgt)
- Monitor and report on project progress in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring transparency and accountability at all stages of the program lifecycle.
- Clear escalation of critical issues with ability to provide options, solutions, impact to senior sponsor
What you need to succeed?
- 10+ years relevant industry experience in managing large scale Enterprise Programs
- Strong financial acumen and performance monitoring.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to clearly present complex items in a digestible format focusing the narrative for purpose and direction.
