Alimentaria shares the story of Mexican cuisine, culture and traditions through a licensed dine-in cantina and take-out window, educational space and Mercado that all offer high-quality, locally and internationally sourced artisanal products and provisions.

Alimentaria Mexicana is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking individual to join the team as a seasonal part-time host & retail associate.

Reporting to the management team, the host is responsible for representing Alimentaria as the first face our guests see in our Cantina and Mercado.

They work independently and in teams to control the flow of the restaurant through timely and efficient management of reservations and the floor plan.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

Greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Controlling the flow of guests in the restaurant through efficient management of reservations, walkins and the waitlist.
Communicate clearly and courteously with guests regarding wait times, table availability, reservations and company policies both in person and over the phone.
Assist in delivering drinks and food to guests, and clearing & resetting tables.
Assist guests in the Mercado with product information & use
Other duties as required.

Required Skills:

1 year of experience as a host or retail associate beneficial
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, to prioritize tasks, and to manage time efficiently.
Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to multitask in order to manage and seat guests in a timely manner.
Strong communicator, welcoming personality and professional attitude.
Must have a valid proof of Social Insurance Number, and be legal to work in Canada.
