Total Compensation Manager_ to join our team of Finance, Engineering, IT, and People & Culture shared service professionals.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the _
Total Compensation Manager_ will coordinate total compensation programs for centrally managed employees including payroll operations, pensions, and employee benefits, as well as Executive Payroll functions, as directed by the President and CEO.

This role will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team engaged in various projects across Scotia Investments Limited and its subsidiary Family of Companies to ensure competitive and attractive compensation packages for our employees.

The Total Compensation Manager will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws governing compensation and benefits.


Primary Areas of Responsibility:


Payroll, Pension & Benefits Operations

  • Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs and pension plans including enrollment processes, administration, communication, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external pension administrators and consultants.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding payroll, pension, and benefits related queries.
  • Coordinate and deliver benefits and retirementplanning educational programming.
  • Analyze market trends and benchmark against industry standards to optimize total compensation offerings.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate regular reports on total compensation metrics, benefits utilization, and payroll expenses.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost savings.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Senior Leaders.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all total compensation and payroll practices comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Stay abreast of changes in labor laws, tax regulations, immigration, and other compliance requirements related to compensation and benefits.

Process Improvements and Project Management

  • Identify inconsistencies and inefficiencies in compensation, benefits, and payroll processes and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Implement process enhancements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of total compensation processes.
  • Stay updated on payroll best practices and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Support HRIS implementation projects, including system configuration, testing, and training, collaborating with IT and P&C teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of HRIS.
  • Support various initiatives such as the research, development and implementation of comprehensive, equitable compensation and bonus structures.
  • Ensure effective communication and rollout of new or modified program structures to employees, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, adjusting as needed to align with organizational goals and industry trends.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business administration, human resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), or equivalent preferred.
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in compensation, benefits, and payroll administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and advanced knowledge of payroll software. A high level of experience working with _ADP_, _Payworks_, or a comparable system would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Proven experience in process improvements and project management
  • Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be adjusted as needed to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

Pay:
$80,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
