Trans-Northern Pipelines Inc.
(TNPI) operates regulated pipelines to safely transport the refined petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, aviation, and heating fuel) used by Canadian businesses and consumers every day.
These pipelines connect refineries in Edmonton to Calgary, including the Calgary International Airport; and refineries in Nanticoke, Ont., and Montreal to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with lateral pipelines to Ottawa as well as to Pearson International Airport and Pierre-Elliot Trudeau International Airport.

***Reporting to the Team Lead, Information Technology, the IT Support Specialist oversees providing first-level IT support to TNPI employees who use IT computer hardware and software systems. This position provides quick customer service and technical support for computer systems, answering questions and resolving basic technical issues. This position also conducts research, tests, and advises on various IT problems and solutions.
OEMS
This job is accountable for ensuring that all aspects of work comply with safe work practices, all applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements and TNPI's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS).

This job performs their job effectively safely, securely, and in a manner protective of the environment, and complies with TNPI Safety and Environmental Absolutes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Operations
- Monitor and manage userrequired assets such as computers, monitors, and accessories
- Configure and manage all installed PCs, printers, and peripherals
- As needed, gather information, and escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support
- Gather uptodate information on IT products and services
- Train users, gather and analyse user needs, and develop and propose plans to meet those needs
- Revise and update training manuals for new and updated software and hardware
Project Management & Support
- Oversees specific IT projects as needed, such as active directoryrelated projects and dynamic distribution list development
- As needed, provide IT project support that includes active directory knowledge, hardware installation, and other computer technical support. As the individual grows, so will his or her involvement.
Technologies:
- Provide feedback based on the results of the tests and evaluations
Security:
- Keep track of hardware inventory.
- Manage and protect IT spared assets.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science, or relevant field is required

CERTIFICATIONS, DESIGNATIONS, OR LICENSES:
- Preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Microsoft 365 is required
- Basic technical problemsolving skills are required
- Required working knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote control
- Knowledge of computer systems, mobile devices, and other technological products is required
- Proven troubleshooting experience with network/connectivity issues is required
- Experience as a help desk technician or in another customer service role is required
- Knowledge of networking is preferred
- Knowledge of general cyber security is preferred

- English proficiency is required

- Priority and sense of urgency
YEARS OF POSITION RELATED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years experience required. Preferred 5+ years.
