RESEARCH COORDINATOR

PERMANENT FULL TIME
Non-Union| 70 hours Bi-weekly - Day shifts and No weekends


Baycrest has been appointed as the health service provider accountable for leading the implementation of the Toronto Central regions' Behaviour Support Action Plan.

A key component of the plan is the deployment of a Behaviour Support Outreach Team ('BSOT'), consisting of interdisciplinary community outreach clinicians, nurses, personal support workers, clinical navigators and a nurse practitioner who have behavioural support expertise.

The research coordinator will work in the coordinating office to support data collection, BSO projects, research opportunities, reporting accountabilities, and support submissions to conferences and publications.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports planning, coordination and implementation of research activities within BSOT
  • Responsible for ensuring smooth implementation and monitoring of study objectives
  • Organizes the work plans for all research projects within BSOT
  • Participates in review and development of study protocols, SOPs, and internal procedures
  • Participates in developing quality improvement practices including designing and collecting of data and analysis
  • Maintains adequate, accurate, complete and legible records, including developing research data bases and qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • Conducts Protocol training for clinical staff and investigators
  • Supports leadership in gathering information for quality improvement and best practice including accreditation
  • Maintains current professional knowledge base of clinical research methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • Performs other tasks as assigned and as training and experience allow
  • Serves as primary contact for multiple studies/sites
  • Prepares for and conducts study monitor visits
  • Serves as a liaison to physicians, investigators, patients and other staff members regarding the research process and individual protocols
  • Submits and reviews Rocuments
  • Strategizes and helps troubleshoot to correct problems
  • Escalates issues as needed to supervisor

Qualifications include but are not limited to:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 35 years' work experience in health care research
  • Completed postsecondary degree in a science or healthcare related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with a high degree of organization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point, etc.)

  • Ability to produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
