Job Summary


Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for helping support administrative and functional excellence in the Human Resources department in the areas of; recruitment/retention; employee relations; health and safety; the maintenance of training and personnel records; and employee engagement.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive and welcoming environment between HR & Staff while ensuring that company policies & procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Participate in new hire orientation of all new hires (hourly and salary) and temptopermanent transitions to ensuring a positive initial experience and understanding of the company business, structure, culture and expectations.
  • Create new hire employee letters, packages, and managing the onboarding process
  • Prepare and maintenance of employee personnel files such as performance reviews, salary adjustments, training records, etc.
  • Attends Joint Health and Safety inspections and meetings and ensuring that action items are recorded and executed upon in a timely manner in collaboration with all appropriate parties.
  • Keeps accurate records and procedures for the Joint Health and Safety committee
  • Ensuring strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in human resources or related field (required)
  • 13 years of work experience in an HR Generalist/Coordinator capacity (required)
  • Highly computer literate with advanced level skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and related business and communication tools (required)
  • Knowledge and understanding of local and Provincial laws, rules and regulations related to human resources and health & safety.
  • Positive attitude, and approachable with a friendly, selfconfident nature
  • Attention to detail especially when reviewing written documents and following up on important dates
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and tact
  • Skilled professional communicator, both verbal and in writing
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills.
