    As a Technical Lead in the IT Operations team, you will be the leading member of the team that provides operational support in a 24/7 environment.

    This is a hands-on technical role, primarily focused on improving operational efficiency, leading technical issues, encouraging best practices, providing support and guidance, as well as evaluating new technologies.

    This role requires a combination of technical skills, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Develop and implement best practices for IT Operations, including incident management, change management, and problem management processes.
    You will help close the gaps in the IT Operations team's technical skillset. Lead architectural discussions, review, design, estimate, oversight, etc.

    You are comfortable supporting Linux and Windows based systems, multi cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) setup, and on-prem VMWare virtualization private cloud.

    Flawless operations will be your priority, through proactive monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery, and maintenance of infrastructure. You are required to be at the Oakville office minimum 3 days a week and as needed.

    You are also required to be on-call on rotation with other Systems Administrators to provide production support after business hours.

    Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert during the technology implementation, testing, designing, and issue resolution.

    Conduct investigations of specific operational areas, analyze the performance of existing systems, generate improved designs of these systems, and run pilot implementations in the testing environment.

    Lead the service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance evaluation, and system tuning.
    Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required. Implement effective documentation, monitoring, disaster recovery (i.e., You'll conduct research in support of help desk technology, Pelmorex systems and communicate these findings to the operations team with the objective of improving system efficiency and lowering operational costs, Install and configure server software and server based application packages in a physical and virtual VMware environment, including physical installations in the computer room.
    Conduct and monitor regular security access and vulnerability diagnostics, and remediate any risks and issues.

    Perform risk assessments of information systems and infrastructure; develop appropriate risk treatment and mitigation options, and effectively articulate findings and recommendations to IT management.

    Make adjustments to processes and methods that the team utilizes in order to improve the performance and effectiveness of the team.

    Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline
    ~Extensive experience with Linux (CentOS or Rocky Linux) and Windows operating systems.

    ~Hands on experience on VMs, containers, resource pools, vApps, and compute management policies.
    ~5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
    ~ Proven experience working with Continuous Delivery pipelines, including implementation of microservices, containers, and Kubernetes deployments.
    ~ Strong understanding of network firewall auditing and policy design, load balancers, SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, IDPS infrastructures and technologies, as well as patch/vulnerability toolsets and processes.
    ~ Hands-on experience with scripting languages: Perl, Python, PowerShell, bash
    ~Experience with writing scripts to automate operations, server management, and auto scaling. (Experience with system performance monitoring and alerting, knowledge of tools such as Grafana/ Prometheus, Kibana.

    Experience with Openstack deployment and support and configuration management tools, like Puppet or Chef, to automate deployments.

    Good knowledge of networking:
    routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, IDS, VPN, DNS, etc. and basic network understanding of underlying principles such as TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting etc.
    Expertise in Crowdstrike Falcon administration and in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and industry standards.
    Hands on experience working with development tools: git, Jenkins, Sonar and good understanding of pipeline framework.

    You're a creative thinker with the ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end users.
