Head of Department for Toronto Engineering College (Arts Division)
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Department to lead the Arts Division at our prestigious Engineering College in Toronto.
As the Head of Department, you will oversee programs such as Animation and Game Design, Design, Illustration & Photography, Advertising & Graphic Design, Advertising Media Management, Advertising & Market Communication, and Marketing Management.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Arts Division aligned with the college's mission and objectives.
Provide visionary leadership and guidance to faculty members and support staff within the division.
Set departmental goals, establish performance metrics, and monitor progress towards achieving them.
Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance:
Oversee the design, development, and review of programs and courses in various arts disciplines, including Animation and Game Design, Design, Illustration & Photography, Advertising & Graphic Design, Advertising Media Management, Advertising & Market Communication, and Marketing Management.
Ensure that the curriculum aligns with industry standards, current trends, and emerging technologies in the arts and media fields.Foster innovation in curriculum design by incorporating hands-on projects, industry collaborations, and experiential learning opportunities.
Academic Excellence and Student Support:
Promote academic excellence by fostering effective teaching practices, research, and professional development among faculty members.
Support and mentor students, ensuring they receive a high-quality education and practical training in their respective arts disciplines.
Foster a culture of creativity, diversity, and career development within the division.
Industry Engagement and Partnerships:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, creative agencies, and media organizations to enhance internship, cooperative education, and employment opportunities for students.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop industry-aligned projects, exhibitions, and networking events.Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in the arts and media fields to ensure program relevance and student preparedness.
Budgeting and Resource Management:
Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure responsible financial practices within the Arts Division.
Identify and secure funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to support divisional initiatives, research projects, and infrastructure enhancements.

$15.50-$39.27 per hour
