    Provide project administration support services in this career building role


The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is responsible for the effective protection, management and conservation of BC's water, land, air and living resources.

It leads work on climate preparedness and adaptation and leads plans to meet greenhouse gas reduction targets.

  • Within the Environmental Protection Division, the Regional Operations Branch is responsible for administering the authorization process associated with discharges to the environment which includes pesticide
- and waste-management plans; permits; licences, registrations, and approvals. The Integrated Services Team is responsible for providing advice on policy and standards for the program per the Environmental Management Act (EMA), the Hazardous Waste Regulation (HWR), and the Integrated Pesticide Management Act (IPMA).

  • The Authorization and Licencing Officer is the lead in dealing with many IPMA pesticide program authorizations and EMA waste discharge program authorizations. This position interfaces directly with the public and industry stakeholders in these areas.

Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent AND one (1) year of recent (within the last three (3) years) *related experience.
  • Related experience must include the following:
  • Experience in customer service.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience in a regulatory role

About this Position:

There are currently two (2) temporary opportunities available until May 1, 2024. A permanent appointment may result from these temporary appointments.

  • An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
  • Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
