    Horizon Maritime Services Ltd is currently recruiting for offshore personnel on behalf of our client who will be

    conducting drill ship operations offshore Newfoundland with projected operation dates from May to August 2024.

    We are currently recruiting a Floorman to support this seasonal scope of work for offshore Newfoundland.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a Risk Assessment.
  • Participate along with Supervisor in Risk Assessments.
  • Inform the Driller, Assistant Driller, Derrickman, Junior Driller regarding unusual/unsafe situations within their
  • area of work.
  • If there are 4 Floorman on a crew, each Roughneck will be required to take the position of "4th Floorman" on
  • a rota basis.
  • The duties of the "4th Floorman" will also include:

    1. Be available on the Drill Floor, making sure that there will always be 3 experienced hands available for operations.
    2. Assist in the training of Roustabouts, not jeopardising the operation in hand.
    3. Participate as a member of the Risk Assessment Team.
    4. That the standard of house-keeping in the working areas is of the highest standard to ensure a safe working environment.
    5. Attend a brief daily meeting with the Master/OIM and, where applicable, the Safety Officer.
    6. Attend the Rig Weekly General Safety Meeting and make a brief presentation on a relevant subject.
    7. Report to Driller as per Organogram, and assist in day to day operations as required.
    8. Relieve for meal and coffee breaks.

    9. Carry out work on the drill floor as required.
    10. Perform basic maintenance work on the drilling equipment and on the drill floor.
    11. Carry out work in the Shaker Room and basic maintenance of all equipment used for mechanical cleaning of mud.
    12. Perform daily cleaning and clearing up on the drill floor and in the shale Shaker Room, etc.
    13. Maintain a good working environment within their working area.
    14. Carry out daily inspections of the derrick/setback area/DHT structure.
    15. Lubricate drilling equipment as instructed by Supervisor.
    16. Take and record mud weights and viscosity whilst working in the shale shakers, reporting to the driller any anomalies.
    17. Comply with Permit to Work System.
    18. Any other duties as required by the Assistant Diller.

      Qualifications & Skills:

    19. Offshore Survival certifications as noted in 'Required Training and Certifications'
    20. Previous offshore experience within a similar position
    21. Ability to pass site access drug and alcohol screening

    22. Transport Canada Marine Medical
    23. CAPP Medical
    24. Canadian BST
    25. Regulatory Awareness
    26. WHMIS 2015
    27. Marine Basic OR Marine Advanced First Aid
    28. STCW Security Duties
