About us
Rooted Connections (previously CFS Regina) is a non-profit, registered charitable organization that provides family and community support services for the Regina and surrounding communities.
As a multi-service agency, we provide family support services, newcomer family support services, professional counselling, educational programs, newcomer employment support services, young parent support services, and youth mentorship programming.
Sensitive to cultural and social diversity, Rooted Connections is a community-based agency that works to strengthen families, couples and individuals through guidance, coaching, mentoring, education and support.
About the position:
Rooted Connections is seeking dedicated and passionate Youth Mentors to join our team. The position requires mentors to meet with vulnerable youth for up to 6 hrs. per week, per participant. The position offers mentors the flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends.
As a Youth Mentor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
Your role will involve providing guidance and support to help youth identify and develop their skill set in order to help reach their full potential.
You will encourage youth to navigate challenges, develop life skills and make constructive choices.Key Responsibilities:
- Build positive relationships with youth participants
- Provide guidance and support youth set and achieve goals
- Plan and facilitate educational and recreational activities
- Assist with homework and academic support
- Promote positive behavior and coping skills
- Serve as a positive role model for youth participants
- Collaborate with other mentors and staff members to create a supportive environment
Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire young individuals
- The ability to work independently
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young individuals
- Valid driver's license
Other assets include; a level of comfort working with individuals living with differing abilities, knowledge of child development, ability to access local community programs/events, and recreational/ leisure activities for youth.

$17.54-$20.52 per hour
