Technical Sales Manager – 3R Biotech
Location:
Remote (Lower Mainland, Vancouver)
Compensation Range:
$60,000 CAD - $80,000 (base salary + bonuses + equity opportunity)
Travel:
A few trade shows per year – nothing crazy

3R Biotech is a scrappy biotech company on a mission: bringing world-class pathogen testing and plant tissue culture services to the cannabis and larger agriculture industries. We've got labs across Canada, the US, and Europe, but we operate lean and smart – leveraging technology to punch above our weight class.
Our philosophy? The best science shouldn't be reserved for the biggest players. Whether you're a major greenhouse operation or a passionate small-scale grower, you deserve rigorous testing, clean genetics, and someone who actually picks up the phone when you call.
The Role
We're looking for a
sales hunter with a science background
, or a
scientist who wants to sell
(or maybe just realized they
like
talking to people more than pipettes).
You'll be the bridge between cutting-edge science and the growers who need it. That means:
- Consultative selling
– Understanding customer challenges and matching them with our pathogen testing and tissue culture solutions - Inbound + outbound
– Following up on leads, prospecting new clients, and building relationships that last - Account management
– Being the go-to person for ongoing client support (think problem-solving partner, not order-taker) - Trade show swagger
– Representing 3R at industry events (booth setup, demos, networking – the works) - Talking the talk
– You need to geek out about
Fusarium
and beneficial microbes with a corporate head grower, then flip to explaining why tissue culture matters to a first-time farmer
You'll report directly to one of our founders (PhD Scientist and Entrepreneur) and have real autonomy to shape how we grow.
Who You Are
Must-haves:
- BACHELOR'S DEGREE in life sciences (or higher)
– botany, microbiology, agronomy, plant pathology, or related fields (BSc, MSc, PhD preferred) - Genuinely enjoy talking to people and solving problems collaboratively
- Comfortable working remotely with weekly in-person meetings in Coquitlam
- Based in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver area
Nice-to-haves:
- Sales experience (but honestly, we'll train you if you've got the curiosity and hustle)
- HubSpot or any CRM experience
- Enthusiasm for using AI tools to scale activities (ie. Claude Code, Replit, Make, n8n, Apollo)
- Experience in the agriculture industry (you get the space, the regulations, the vibe)
- Ability to travel to the US without restrictions
Personality-wise:
- You're done with the academic rat race and ready for the real world
- You can code-switch between highly technical conversations and approachable, jargon-free explanations
- You're excited about a startup environment – scrappy, fast-moving, tech-forward
- You believe great science should be accessible to everyone, not just those with deep pockets
