- Minimum Bachelor of Music / Music Education degree from a recognized postsecondary institution and two years of teaching experience, or combination of relevant commensurate education and experience.
- Demonstrable skills in building, managing, and maintaining a strong teaching studio in Classical Violin.
- Experience teaching all levels and ages.
- Classical performance experience.
- Build and maintain an active teaching studio in Classical Violin.
- Support the VCM's recruitment efforts for new Violin students.
- Develop Classical Violin students to support and participate in the CSCM and its ensembles (Introductory, Intermediate String Orchestras, VCM Chamber Orchestra), the Young Artists Collegium, and any other relevant departments or groups at the VCM.
- Regular communication with String Department Head.
- Attend Strings Faculty Department meetings.

About the position:
As a member of the VCM Faculty, Strings Department, this position will include teaching primarily at the VCM location in Westhills, Langford, as well as some opportunities at VCM's main Victoria downtown location. VCM Faculty positions are contracted under a standard teaching agreement as independent service providers to the VCM.

The Ann & George Nation Conservatory School of Classical Music (CSCM) is home to the traditionally rigorous training Western European Classical Music has been known for, and in a more modern context: teaching students to play well, with historically informed performance practice and depth of knowledge and interpretation about the music.
