Job Description:


The Business Management Specialist reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategy, Enablement and Optimization (SEO) will act as the strategic business partner for the Claims function of TD Insurance (TDI).

Working with pan TDI teams, this position will draw on your business and analytical knowledge to meet short
- and long-term TD aligned objectives ranging from procedural, financial, operational encouraging you to become a performance management leader in the bank.

  • Manage a wide range of existing and new strategic initiatives from inception to execution including stakeholder management, problem identification, recommendations, process flow, opportunities and more
  • Evaluate business opportunities regarding impact and size benefits while considering risk and other quantitive and qualitive characteristics
  • Gather, analyze and interpret data creating detailed current and forward looking models to support and lead strategic direction
  • Track claims business performance and manage existing and future strategic claims initiatives (financial, operational, etc.) to ensure optimal business performance using a wide range of tools
  • Represent TDI claims in the financial and operational claims plan processes with a focus on accuracy and structure
  • Encourage a culture of expense efficiency through analysis and regular meetings with partners to ensure fiscal goals and challenges are met
  • Prepare TDI business partners and facilitate financial challenge sessions for strategic business opportunities involving actuarial, finance partners and executives.
  • Actively participate in and lead strategic meetings and contribute thought provoking ideas and considerations that may have otherwise been missed
  • Understand, keep up to date and analyze trends relevant to the industry
  • Provide clear and concise business level communications to ensure messaging is aligned to business strategies and executive management direction.
  • Be comfortable in presenting thoughts and ideas to a wideranging audience including to executives in a clear and concise manner
  • Diligently manage risk ensuring a risk appetite consistent with the overall appetite of the company
  • Manage other concurrent projects and adhoc asks as required

Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience in finance, planning and budgeting management
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting
  • Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders, projects, planning
  • Proficiency with excel, powerpoint
  • Statistical, analytical and financial background preferred
