The Klondike Experience, a long-established local travel company, has partnered with Air North to provide essential ground handling services at the Dawson Airport.

We are hiring a Station Lead, who will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation of the station. The successful candidate will oversee flight operations, cargo logistics, staff coordination, and customer service while maintaining strict compliance with safety, regulatory, and partner (Air North) requirements. This position acts as a key operational link between station staff, management, Air North, and the community, ensuring smooth operations, clear communication, and a high standard of service at all times. This position is year-round.

Role Description:

• Support daily aircraft arrivals and departures, including marshalling as trained, baggage and cargo handling, and assisting with aircraft servicing and preparation for departure.
• Handle all terminal opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure all ground service equipment, station vehicles, and facilities get regular inspections to keep them safe and ready for action.
• Handle all essential paperwork accurately and on time, including inspections, SMS reports, proof of delivery, and chain of custody forms.
• Maintain a high level of customer service. Handle, efficiently resolve, and document any escalated customer concerns or complex issues.
• Ensure timely deliveries, accurate accounting of all stored cargo, and contact customers promptly.
• Work closely with Station Manager to publish staff schedule in a timely manner and resolve any human resource issues or conflicts quickly and efficiently.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands (ability to lift up to 50 lbs on your own).
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to follow strict safety protocols.
• Grade 12 diploma.
• Applicants should be residing or ready to reside in Dawson City, Yukon, year-round.
• Standard First-Aid CPR C.

Assets:

• Knowledge of airport operations and safety regulations.
• Leadership, management, or business diploma / coursework.
• Willingness to obtain class 2 or class 4 driver's license.
• Prior aviation industry experience.

Job Details:

• Starting wage of $33.50 hourly + 4% vacation pay
• Estimated weekly working hours are 30 hours in winter and 40 hours in summer
• Overtime hours (in excess of 40 hours per week) are eligible for pay at a rate of 1.5x pay.
• Minimum shift length for Station Lead as with all staff, is 4 hours.
• Your remuneration is eligible for an annual increase every May 1st in accordance with the previous year's inflation rates.
• At this time, the company does not offer an additional annual bonus, travel benefits, or health benefits plan, but we are open to discussions to this effect.
