RDJ Bakeries Ltd_ is currently looking for a Crew Leader to join our growing team. We are hiring for the night shift (straight shift).


Job purpose


The Crew Leader oversees all activities directly relating to the activities of all packaging staff and equipment on their line to ensure a safe, efficient, and organized packaging operation for Gluten Free products.


Duties and Responsibilities
The associate's primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Direct and coach team to ensure all staff are adhering to the policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Reach scrap & efficiency goals as relating to your assigned line.
  • Ensure all "Work-InProcess" is used up in an efficient manner as per First in First Out rules.
  • Prepare and complete all required paperwork including production packaging records, weight checks and metal detection records.
  • Ensure all checks are completed on time.
  • Ensure proper packaging is used.
  • Update date code and ensure it is accurate.
  • Coordinate changeovers and cleans.
  • Help keep line clean and at end of shift, ensure bins, cardboard garbage's are emptied for next shift.
  • Manage packers on the line to assign work during spare time, monitor break times and attendance.
  • Ensure timely rotations of packers as per the company standard.
  • Use just foods software to report pallets and print LPs.
  • Responsible to ensure all packers are trained.
  • Responsible to ensure packers are following safety procedures and company policies.
  • Responsible to communicate issues on the line to appropriate individuals including Service Operator, QA, Line Supervisor, oven operator and Mechanic.
  • Assist and complete cleaning procedures such as allergens.
  • Adjust and direct crew when it comes to equipment downtime and break downs.
  • Always organize and maintain the line.
  • To assist with moving pallets as required on the production lines.
  • Require working "Independently" as well as in a "Team" environment.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Follow all SOP's.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience working in a product packaging environment preferred.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent command of the English language; reading/writing/verbal
  • Must be a team player, have good organizational skills and the ability to work with mínimal supervision, and possess a safetyfirst approach to work.
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and have dependable attendance.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal communication.

Working conditions

  • Always work indoors.
  • May be exposed to very hot temperatures from ovens.
  • May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
  • Usually wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, and beardnets.
  • Straight shift work.

Shift
11:00pm - 7:00am Sunday Night to Friday Morning

Salary:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour
