    Job Description

    The main tasks of the mobile scale clerk are to support the feeder yards when the resident scale clerk is not available to support the sites daily operations. This person is responsible for traveling to our various locations and supporting daily scale operations for our (10) sites in the Southern Ontario region according to the needs of the company.

    Responsibilities:

  • Performing the opening and closing of daily operations
  • Greeting customers courteously, following our procedures and requirements
  • Informing customers of current metal prices and directing customers on site
  • Answering and redirecting phone calls as needed
  • Weighing materials, preparing shipping papers and paying customers
  • Completing delivery orders in the RECY software and creating reports
  • Following up on material shipments and dispatching of the trucks
  • Balancing the cash register at the end of the day
  • Communicating with the receiver the relevant information
  • Performing all other related tasks as assigned

  • Qualifications

  • Valid G drivers license
  • Previous experience as a scale house operator, preferably in a recycling or industrial setting
  • Knowledge of weighing systems, equipment, and procedures
  • Familiarity with metal recycling processes, materials, and specifications is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Rigour, reliable, good memory and mental arithmetic skills
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with scale software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Additional Information

  • Must be available to work flexible working hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday from 7:00am to 5:00pm
  • When necessary, the hotel is paid for by the company
  • Permanent, full-time position
