What you will do
The Drafter is a member of the Fire Alarm Design Department of Johnson Controls. Uses computer aided drafting (CAD) software to provide drafting support on large complex multi-faceted Fire Alarm systems projects. Prepares technical drawings and plans to show detail and method of assembly. Ensures accurate documentation and filing of all project drawings.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares design submittal package for Fire Alarm System projects.
  • Crafts shop drawing submittal, and Operation & Maintenance Manual.
  • Analyzes the specifications, code reports, and electrical drawings.
  • Summarizes fire alarm material quantities and calculates control panel's load using Bluebeam Revu and MS Office Excel.
  • Builds drawing submittal packages using CAD.
  • Revises the reviewed submittal package based on Engineer's comments.

What we look for

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of AutoCAD training and education with 2+ years' related drafting experience. Background in electrical preferred.
  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD and drafting standards.
